Tigers Take Two In California

PRINCETON, N.J. - John Stover scored three goals and won all six sprints in two games for the men's water polo team, which defeated UC-Davis and Air Force in Stockton, Califonia. The Tigers finished 3-1 on the weekend in California and improved to 14-2 overall.
In the UC-Davis game this morning, both teams battled through a scoreless first quarter before Princeton lit it up with four goals in the second. D.J. Halliday, T.J. Edwards, Mike Murray and Chris Kelsch each scored once to give the Tigers a 4-1 lead at halftime.
Stover then scored once in the third and again in the fourth and Princeton finished ahead of UC-Davis, 6-4. Peter Sabbatini had 10 saves in goal.
The Tigers then faced Air Force in the second game of Sunday's doubleheader in Stockton. Kelsch, Stover and Jamal Motlagh each scored once in the first half to tie the Falcons, 3-3, at the break. Stover had two goals and Kelsch and Reid each added one apiece in the second half and Princeton won, 7-6. Gant Morgner finished with eight saves.
Princeton next hosts the Inter-Regional Competition this weekend, Oct. 17-19.
