PRINCETON, N.J. - John Stover's four goals couldn't help Princeton this time as the men's water polo team lost its first game of the season, 11-10 to St. Francis.
Stover, who leads the team with 27 goals, scored once in each quarter and won all four sprints but the Tigers never led. St. Francis pulled ahead 3-2 in the first quarter, 6-4 in the second, 10-8 in the third and finished Princeton off 11-10 in the fourth.
Dean Riskas, Dan McKenna and Reid Joseph all scored twice and Peter Sabbatini made eight saves for Princeton.
The Tigers fall to 11-1 as they enter a week-long break before their next game. Princeton travels to California from Oct. 10-12 to play California, Pacific, Air Force and UC-Davis.
