Princeton, N.J. - Princeton men's hockey head coach Len Quesnelle officially named seniors Chris Owen and Steve Slaton as team captains for the upcoming 2003-04 season. In addition, it was announced that sophomores Patrick Neundorfer and Dustin Sproat will serve as assistant captains this season.
Owen, a native of Westwood, Mass., is Princeton's leading returning scorer and is coming off a breakout season. In 2002-03, he led the Tigers in goals with 17 and tied for the team lead in points with 23. That high came after posting totals of eight and five points in his first two seasons at Princeton. As the Tigers' offensive catalyst, he will be looked upon to help jump-start an offense that struggled to put goals into the net last season.

Neundorfer and Sproat will provide additional leadership following strong freshman campaigns last season. Neundorfer, a native of Cleveland, Ohio, provides on-ice intensity that is second-to-none. He tied for the team lead in goals among freshmen last season, while Sproat, a product of Red Deer, Alb., led all Tiger freshmen in assists and points last year and earned the team's Hobey Baker Trophy as the top freshman.
