CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - Kevin Ara put Harvard ahead for good just under 10 minutes into the game and Matt Hoff added insurance with a goal midway through the second half as the Crimson defeated Princeton, 2-0, in an Ivy League men's soccer game played at Ohiri Field Saturday afternoon.
Ara's fourth goal of the year came with 9:44 elapsed thanks to an assist from William Craig, while Hoff's sixth goal of the season was assisted by Brian Charnock and Nicholas Tornaritis. Princeton (4-5-3, 1-2-1 Ivy) outshot Harvard (6-4-3, 1-2-1) 12-10 and had six corner kicks to just two for the Crimson but was shut out for the third straight game.
Erik White had one save for the Tigers, while Ryan Johnson earned a shutout for Harvard and had three saves.
The Tigers step out of conference for a game at Rutgers Tuesday before hosting Cornell in an Ivy League game Friday night at Lourie-Love Field.
