PRINCETON, N.J. - Senior defender Jeff Hare has been named to the All-Ivy League first team and is one of five Tigers honored by the conference this season. Freshman Kyle McHugh earned second-team honors and seniors Gianfranco Tripicchio and Marty Shaw and sophomore Alex Reison were honorable mentions.
Hare finished the season tied with Darren Spicer for team-highs of four goals and eight points. He started all 17 games and is described by head coach Jim Barlow as "one of the most competitive players in Princeton history."
A two-year captain, Hare was named honorable mention All-Ivy as a freshman and to the first team as a sophomore, junior and senior. He was a unanimous selection in his junior year.
McHugh made an immediate impact on the team, starting in his first collegiate game and finishing the season third in total points with two goals and a team-high three assists. He was named the Ivy League Rookie of the Week after scoring two goals, including the overtime gamewinner, against Dartmouth.
Tripicchio scored one goal, the first of his career, and tied McHugh as the team's leader in assists with three. Shaw tallied two assists and Reison finished with two goals and one assist, all in Princeton's 3-1 win at Penn.
Princeton finished the year with a 6-8-3 overall record and a 3-3-1 mark in the Ivy League.
