Garnaas Named District II Academic All-America

Princeton sophomore Maija Garnaas has been named a first-team District II CoSIDA Academic All-America in women's soccer.
Garnaas' name now goes onto the national ballot, along with selections from all eight all-district teams.
A native of Arlington, Va., Garnaas is a key member of the midfield for the 11-1-3 Tigers, who have been ranked in the national Top 25 most of the season and are currently ranked 20th by SoccerBuzz. She has played in 28 of 32 games in her career and has started five of the last eight games.
Garnaas has a 3.66 grade-point average as a molecular biology major.
