Tigers Sweep HYP Fencing Meet

New Haven, Conn. - The Princeton fencing teams completed a four-bout sweep of Harvard and Yale on Saturday afternoon in New Haven Conn. Both the Princeton men and women earned victories over Yale and Harvard, with all four bouts ending with the identical 16-11 score.
The men's squad topped Yale 5-4 in epee and 7-2 in foil, but fell 5-4 in saber. Against Harvard, the tigers took epee, 7-2 and saber 6-3 but fell in foil 6-3.
The women defeated Harvard 6-3 in both epee and foil, but fell 5-4 in saber, while defeating Yale 5-4 in epee and 7-2 in foil but fell 5-4 in saber.
With the victories, the Tiger men improved to 6-4 overall, 2-2 in the Ivy League. The Tiger women improved to 12-3 overall, 4-1 in the Ivy League. Both squads return to action on March 1, at the 2003 IFA Championships in Boston, Mass.
