Snyder And Valocsik Honored At Buzz Classic

Freshman pitcher Erin Snyder was named to the All-Tournament Team for her breakthrough on the mound. She struck out 25 batters in 16.2 innings, including 14 strikeouts in the Tigers' lone win of the tournament, a 4-2 victory of Boston University.
Erin Valocsik earned honorable mention at the Buzz after she went 4 for 8 with four runs and a homer. It was the senior's third home run of her career, with her first two coming at the end of last season. Valocsik also recorded a .875 slugging percentage and had no errors throughout the tournament.
The invitational tournament featured 18 teams throughout the country, including Florida State who is currently ranked 17th in the NFCA poll. In the four consecutive years that Princeton participated, the competition at the Buzz proved to be the toughest for the Tigers.
Princeton dropped three games on Saturday to Florida State by a score of 5-1, Middle Tennessee 5-4, and Nicholls State 5-2. The team bounced back on Sunday to defeat Boston University, 4-2.
The Tigers travel to Rutgers this Tuesday for a 2:30 p.m. game before their home opener against Monmouth on Thursday.
