PRINCETON, N.J. - The Yale third doubles team of Margaret Purcell and Ashley Martin pulled out the doubles point with an 8-6 win, and the Bulldogs' singles players carried that momentum to a 5-2 win over the Princeton women's tennis team Friday afternoon at Jadwin Tennis Courts. Kavitha Krishnamurthy (Sr., Oakville, Ont.) and Jessica Siebel (Fr., Ross, Calif.) each earned singles wins for Princeton, which falls to 8-6, 1-2 in the Ivy League. Yale is now 15-1, 1-0.
Leading 1-0 after the tight doubles win, Yale got another break when No. 2 player Neha Uberoi (Fr., Boca Raton, Fla.) defaulted early in her match due to injury. The Bulldogs cruised to wins at No. 3 and No. 4 singles and earned an additional point with a three-set win at No. 6. Princeton will look to rebound tomorrow afternoon when it takes on Brown at noon.
