Softball's Freshman Ace Earns Ivy League Pitcher Of The Week

PRINCETON, N.J. - Freshman Erin Snyder has been named the Ivy League Pitcher of the Week after earning two Ivy League wins on the mound for the Tigers. She had 18 strikeouts and a single walk in two complete games, and then struck out seven more in just three innings as a relief pitcher against Brown.
Snyder pitched a 5-1 win over Yale, in which she walked no batters and struck out seven. She returned to the mound at Brown and pitched a two-hitter with 11 strikeouts and just one walk for a 2-0 shutout.
Snyder has a team-high seven wins in 91 innings pitched, and dominates Ivy League pitchers with a conference-high 124 strikeouts. Before this week, she had 99 strikeouts and the next best Ivy pitcher had 50.
This week's Ivy League Pitcher of the Week also excelled at the plate as of late, and moved to second on the team in batting average with .317. She is tied with a team-best seven doubles and also has 14 RBIs.
This past week, Snyder went 2 for 4 with a team-high three RBIs in the 5-1 win over Yale. Her double in the first put the Tigers up 3-0 and the Bulldogs never recovered. She also went 2 for 4 in the second game against Brown, in which she scored one run and hit another first-inning double that brought home three.
Princeton improved to 14-10-1 this week and hosts Lehigh tomorrow, April 16 at 3 p.m.
