SECAUCUS, N.J. - The MetroStars acquired Mike Nugent, a 2001 Princeton graduate as a developmental player for the 2003-04 season, as announced by the team on Monday, April 28.

Nugent helped Princeton win two Ivy League championships and, in his senior year, was named the Ivy Player of the Year. He was a fourth round draft pick by the Chicago Fire last year, but played just four games before suffering a torn meniscus.
