Wrestling Hands Out Postseason Awards

Princeton, N.J. - The Princeton wrestling team handed out five postseason awards and honored its eight graduating seniors at its annual banquet Saturday afternoon night.
Seniors John Knorring and Greg Parker were both awarded The Triede Trophy. The award is named in honor of George B. Treide '36 and is awarded annually to the member(s) of the Princeton varsity wrestling team, who by his spirit, ability and sportsmanship has contributed most to the sport.
Freshmen Matt DeNichilo and Matt Piselli were each given The Hooker Trophy. This award it given by Donald Houghton Hooker '32 and Russell Houghton Hooker '34 and is awarded annually to that freshman member of the Princeton wrestling squad who has shown the greatest improvement during the season.
In addition to the Triede Trophy, Parker was also awarded The Gifford Trophy. The award was donated in memory of Joseph T. Gifford '39 and is awarded annually to that member of the Princeton varsity wrestling team who has scored the most points in competition during the season.
Also at the banquet, Princeton's eight seniors were also honored. They are Joe Clarke, Seth Dunipace, Josh Humphries, Knorring, Thomas Love, Josh Nichols, Parker and T.J. Pray.
