Camden, N.J. - The Princeton open crew gave Radcliffe a run for its money in the grand final of the EAWRC Sprints, but the Tigers had to settle for second in the Ivy League championship race. The Tigers now turn their attention to the NCAA championships in two weeks.
The varsity eights fell to Radcliffe by 4.6 seconds in the grand final, but it did defeat Brown for the second time this season; the first time came early in the season. The top three came in reverse order in the second varsity eights, with Brown claiming first, Princeton keeping second and Radcliffe falling to third. Princeton's third varsity fours finished fourth in the 'A' race and seventh in the 'B' race.
The novice eights came in second, holding off Yale by less than one second in the grand final. Unfortunately for the Tigers, Brown had completed the race more than 16 seconds before Princeton and Yale completed its battle. Princeton's second novice eight boat placed third behind Brown and Syracuse.
