PRINCETON, N.J. - Freshman Erin Snyder was named the Ivy League Pitcher of the Week for the third time this season when she closed the critical game at Brown, allowing no runs in the nine-minute resumed game and helping the Tigers win sole possession of the Ivy League title.
Snyder then returned home to pitch a 7-1 win over St. Joseph's at the Princeton Invitational, striking out seven Hawks, walking one, and allowing just four hits. She also pitched two innings of a nine-inning battle with Rider, in which she allowed just one hit, walked none, and struck out two.
Snyder is currently 13-8 with 191 strikeouts this season, the second-best strikeout mark of all time at Princeton. Snyder moved into No. 2 when she passed the all-time marks of her coaches Brie Galicinao (172) and Maureen Davies Barron (181), who were previously second and third in the Princeton record books. The record is 212 strikeouts in a season.
