Men's Hockey Announces Award Winners

Princeton, N.J. - The Princeton men's hockey program recently held its annual postseason awards banquet to announce its 2002-03 award winners and honor its five graduating seniors.
George Parros was that recipient of the Richard F. Vaughan Cup, which is awarded annually to that varsity player who best exemplifies perseverance and dedication to Princeton hockey. Parros, a three-time member of the ECAC All-Academic team, skated in 111 games for the Tigers and posted 20 goals and 32 assists for 52 points.
Parros was also the recipient of the 1941 Championship Trophy, presented annually to that varsity player who best reflected the winning spirit of the 1941 championship team and in doing so was an inspiration to his teammates. Members of the 1941 Princeton hockey team give the award.
The Blackwell Trophy, awarded annually to that member of the Princeton hockey team who in play, sportsmanship and influence has contributed most to the sport, was presented to Chris Owen. Owen tied for the team lead in points (23) with classmate Mike Patton and led the team in goals (17). He is a two-time member of the ECAC All-Academic team. Freshman Dustin Sproat was presented with the Hobey Baker Trophy, which is awarded annually to that Princeton freshman hockey player who, among his classmates, in play, sportsmanship and influence has contributed most to the sport. Sproat, a forward, played in all but one game this season notching three goals and eight assists for 11 points.
The Tigers also honored their five graduating seniors. In addition to Parros, they will lose Trevor Beaney, Neil McCann, Nate Nomeland and Scott Prime.
