Women's Golf Leads Field After First Day of Princeton Invitational

Princeton, N.J. - The Princeton women's golf team continued its strong play this fall as it jumped out ahead of the pack after the first day of the Princeton Invitational at Springdale Golf Club. The Tigers shot a 300 and are 21 strokes ahead of Richmond, the nearest competitor.
Avery Kiser was the only golfer to shoot par the whole day, as she shot a par 72 and leads the field. Sharla Cloutier is two shots back following her opening round 74. Taryn Haladay continues the Princeton name atop the leader board two more streokes back with a 76. Meg Nakamura shot a 78 and is tied for 10th while Alexis Etow shot an 86 and is tied for 53rd.
Play in the opening round was suspended for approximately one hour due to heavy rains rolling through the Princeton are.
The final round is scheduled for tomorrow morning at 8 a.m.
