Women's Golf Earns Second Tournament Win of Fall

Princeton, N.J. - Freshman Sharla Cloutier shot a final round 77 to pass teammate Avery Kiser and win the Princeton Invitational earlier today at Princeton's Springdale Golf Club. The Tigers placed four of their golfers in the top 15 to run away from the field and win their second tournament of the fall.

Cloutier entered the day second overall after a first-round 74. That, coupled with today's 77, put her at 151 for the tournament. It is the first college win for Cloutier who has now finished first and second in her two career outings. Kiser shot a par 72 in Round 1 and an 80 today to finish one stroke back with a 152. Richmond's Ashley Lambert was third with a 154. Richmond's Lauren Ritter (155) and Weber State's Lynsey Myers (156) rounded out the top five.
Princeton Meg Nakamura and Taryn Haladay both shot 160's for the two-round tournament and tied for 13th in the tournament. Alexis Etow shot a 169 and tied for 46th.
Three Tigers, Christina Norair, Caitlin Sullivan and Debra Gemme competed as individuals and shot 168, 164 and 202 respectively.
Princeton claimed the overall team title by 19 strokes over Yale. The Bulldogs shot the lowest team score of Round 2, a 319 to pass Richmond for second in the final round. The Spiders came home third, with Brown and Weber State rounding out the top five.
Princeton next plays on the weekend of Oct. 11-12 at the Penn State Invitational.
