Men's Water Polo Wins Its First ECAC Championship

PRINCETON, N.J. - Peter Sabbatini made 10 saves to help the men's water polo team capture an 8-6 win over Navy and its first-ever ECAC championship title. The Tigers defeated Johns Hopkins, George Washington and Queens on their way to the championship game and a perfect 11-0 overall record.
Princeton got off to a quick start and a 3-0 lead after the first quarter but Navy made it 3-2 at the half. Both teams scored two third-quarter goals before the Tigers dominated in the final period for the 8-6 win.
John Stover, Reid Joseph, Dan McKenna and Jamal Motlagh all scored two goals for Princeton while Sabbatini played the entire game in the cage.
The Tigers improve to 11-0 overall and next host St. Francis on Thursday, Oct. 2 at 7:30 p.m.
