Men's Water Polo Falls at Stanford 15-4

Palo Alto, Calif. - The Princeton men's water polo team fell to the nation's top-ranked team, Stanford, 15-4 Friday afternoon at Stanford's Avery Aquatic Center. Sophomore Chris Kelsh led the Tigers with a pair of goals.
Stanford's Tony Azevedo scored three of his five goals in the first period as the Cardinal jumped to an 8-2 first period lead. Greg Crum added three goals including Stanford's first goal of the game at 6:10 of the first period.
Peter Varellas added a pair of goals for Stanford which upped its season record to 8-1. Kelsch scored two goals for Princeton which fell to 10-2. Sophomores Nicholas Seaver and Ben Reitz also scored for Princeton.
Princeton opens play on Saturday at the NorCal Tournament at Pacific with a 9:20 a.m. game against UC Santa Barbara. The Tigers will also play later in the day against either USC, Redlands or Air Force, depending on how the tournament unfolds.
