Miami, Fla. - The Princeton women's golf team shot the low round of the tournament, 298, on Sunday morning to pull away from Miami and win the Pat Bradley Championships at the Blue Monster at the Doral Golf Resort and Spa. Senior Avery Kiser led the Tigers on the individual leaderboard with a second-place finish.
Princeton held a four-stroke advantage entering the final round, but the tournament's only sub-300 score gave the Tigers the necessary breathing room to secure the victory. The win was Princeton's second consecutive tournament win, following last weekend's first-place finish at the Princeton Invitational at Springdale.
Kiser, who had led the tournament following the first and second rounds after consecutive 71's, shot a 75 today to complete the tournament at 217, four strokes behind Miami's Tina Miller who used the tournament's only sub-70 score, a 68, to take the title. Sophomore Sharla Cloutier used her second consecutive solid round to climb to third overall. She shot a one-over 73 to complete the tournament at 224. Freshman Annika Welander shot par on Sunday for Princeton's lowest round of the day and climbed into a 14th place tie. Sophomore Alex Etow shot a 78 for a three-round 237 for 29th, while senior Meg Nakamura put up a 78 for a 240 and a 34th-place finish. Sophomore Caitlin Sullivan, entered as an individual, shot a 79 on Sunday for a three-round 244 and a tie for 44th.
In the team rankings, Princeton's 907 was the class of the field. Miami's 914 was second, followed by Central Florida (928), Bethune-Cookman (936) and Middle Tennessee State (940).
The Tigers conclude the fall season on Oct. 25-26 at the Precept Women's Intercollegiate hosted by Austin Peay in Clarksville, Tenn.
