Men's Water Polo Completes Perfect CWPA Southern Season With Wins Over Bucknell and Navy

Lewisburg, Pa. - The Princeton men's water polo team defeated Bucknell and Navy Saturday afternoon to complete the regular season with an 18-4 record and a perfect 10-0 mark in the CWPA Southern Division. Princeton will be the top seed in next week's Southern Championships, which will be held at Princeton's DeNunzio Pool.
In the opening game, Princeton turned a 3-2 halftime lead into a 7-4 win. Dean Riskas scored three goals in the win and John Stover added a pair. Peter Sabbatini made eight saves.

In the day's second game, Princeton used a strong defensive effort to defeat Navy, also by a score of 7-4. Princeton broke open a 2-2 game in the third quarter with four goals to take a 6-3 lead through three quarters. Each team added a goal in the final period. Chris Kelsch scored twice in the game to lead all scorers while Sabbatini made 12 saves.

Princeton returns to the pool next weekend at Southerns and will play at 6 p.m., next Friday night. The opponent has not yet been determined.
