Princeton, N.J.--The Tigers face a possible share of the Ivy League title with a win over their host, Yale on Saturday to closeout the regular-season. The match-up begins at 4 p.m. at the Soccer-Lacrosse Stadium in New Haven, Conn.
Princeton (8-4-4. 3-2-1 Ivy) defeated Penn, 1-0, off a breakaway goal by Ben Young in the 34th minute of action. Erik White recorded his league-leading sixth shutout of the season with the win. Yale (6-10, 3-3 Ivy), however, dropped a 1-0 decision to Brown last weekend.
Against the Bulldogs... In last year's season-ender, the Tigers pulled out a 2-0 win over Yale on Nov. 15. In fact, the last four meeting have all been shutouts and Princeton has claimed three of the victories.
Helping hands... A win against the Bulldogs plus Brown defeating Dartmouth would mean a three-way tie by all three teams for the Ivy League championship. It would also set-up an automatic NCAA berth for Princeton since the Tigers handed Brown a 3-2 loss earlier this season. So Princeton needs the help if Brown to clinch a share of the title and earn the NCAA berth.
