The Princeton women's indoor track team defeated Yale and Harvard to win the annual H-Y-P meet at Harvard's Gordon Track Saturday, nipping the Bulldogs by one point and defeating Harvard by 20 points. Princeton finished the meet with 60 points, Yale with 59 and Harvard with 40.
The Tigers dominated the distance events, taking the top three spots in the mile and the top four positions in the 3,000 meters. Catha Mullen and Randy Buzzell finished within half-a-second of each other in the mile, with Carrie Strickland taking third less than a second after that. In the 3,000, Emily Kroshus continued her spectacular senior year with another victory, finishing in 9:21.50, with Cack Ferrell in second at 9:22.51 and Meredith Lambert and Claire Filloux taking third and fourth place.
Princeton also got a victory in the 400 meters, with junior Hasina Outtz taking that race in a time of 57.95. The Tigers 4X400 meter relay also won by an impressive three-second margin over a team from Yale.
The Tigers compete at the Princeton Invitational next Saturday.
