Columbus, Ga. - Princeton knocked off a second nationally-ranked team in as many days with a 1-0 win of No. 16 Fresno State on Saturday morning at the Leadoff Classic. Erin Snyder pitched the three-hitter, striking out 11 Bulldogs for a 2-0 start to her sophomore season, while Wendy Bingham scored the game-winning run.
After five scoreless innings, Bingham got on base by an error at third. Kristin Del Calvo singled through the right side before Lindsay Motal, reaching base on another Bulldog error, sent Bingham home. Del Calvo and Tiffany Andras both went 2 for 3 at the plate.
South Carolina won the pool and advanced to the Gold Championships while Princeton plays Notre Dame at 6:30 p.m. tonight in the Silver Championships.
