Women's Tennis Falls to 51st-ranked Maryland, 6-1

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - Jackie Arcario won at No. 5 singles for the Tigers, but Princeton fell to 51st-ranked Maryland by a 6-1 score at Maryland's Indoor Tennis Center Sunday afternoon.
Arcario lost the first set 6-3 to Neda Mihneva but came back to win the second set 6-2. She then won a hard-fought 14-12 tiebreak to win the match.
Princeton's Joanna Roth also played a three-setter at No. 6, falling to Andreea Fusea in a 10-6 tiebreak after splitting the first two sets.
At No. 2 doubles, Alex Kobishyn and Jessica Siebel fell to Ramona But and Mihneva 8-6. Maryland took the top four singles spots in straight sets.
Princeton returns to action next Saturday, hosting St. John's at the Jadwin tennis courts. No. 51 Maryland 6, Princeton 1 Feb. 29, 2004 College Park, Md.
