Citrus Springs, Fla. - The Princeton women's golf team currently sits in sixth place after the first round of the Lady Herd/El Diablo Intercollegiate at the El Diablo Golf and Country Club in Citrus Springs, Fla. Yale leads the 16-team field.
Thirty-six holes were scheduled for Monday, but play was suspended during the second 18 holes of play around 6 p.m. due to lightning in the area. Teams will conclude their Monday rounds early Tuesday before final rounds commence later in the day.
Yale leads the tournament after the first round with a team score of 308. Marshall and Eastern Michigan are tied for second with 312. Princeton currently is sixth following a first round 316.
Yale's Cindy Shin leads the way individually with a 70. Kentucky's Ali Kicklighter is second with a 72. Junior Avery Kiser is next on the leaderboard with a 74. Other Princeton golfers are freshman Sharla Cloutier and senior Meg Nakamura (tied-26th, 80). Freshman Alexis Etow (tied-45th, 82) and Taryn Haladay (tied-50th, 84) wrapped up the rest of Princeton's team effort. Freshman Christina Norair (tied-82nd, 90) is competing as an individual.
Play concludes tomorrow at the El Diablo Golf and Country Club.
