Women's Tennis Loses Tough One to Loyola Marymount, 4-3

CARSON, Calif. - The Loyola Marymount University women's tennis team came from behind to earn a 4-3 win over Princeton on Saturday afternoon at the Home Depot Center.
Princeton won three singles matches to push LMU to the limit. Alison Hashmall was ahead in her match 6-2 and 3-3 over LMU's Kimi Kaloi before Kaloi was forced to retire due to injury. Laura Trimble routed Jennifer Baker at No. 5 singles, 6-1 and 6-2, while Princeton No. 4 Stephanie Berg split two tough sets with Serena Fermin before winning an equally-difficult tiebreak, 11-9, to win the match.
In the doubles matches, LMU came from behind in two of the three matches to win all of those matches and win the key doubles point. Erin Ivey and Fermin, making the move to number one doubles, trailed 6-3 to the team of Darcy Robertson and Alex Kobishyn. However, they recovered for the 9-7 win. The same can be said at number two doubles with Carla Arguelles and Tamara Tanner. The duo trailed 7-6 and fought back for the 9-7 win. At number three doubles Robyn and Jennifer Baker earned an 8-4 win.
In singles play Arguelles won at number one singles, 6-2, 6-1. At number two singles Robyn Baker earned the win, 6-2, 6-2. The fourth point for the Lions came at number six singles with Erin Ivey winning 6-2, 6-1.
