Already 3-0 against top 10 competition, the top-ranked Princeton women's lacrosse team faces its toughest test yet Friday afternoon when it visits second-ranked Georgetown in the game of the early season in women's college lacrosse.
Game time is 4 p.m. at Georgetown's North Kehoe Field, and the game can be heard live at goprincetontigers.com and on WHWH-AM 1350 in Princeton.
The Tigers improved to 6-0 on the season Wednesday night with a 17-6 rout of Columbia in their Ivy League opener in New York. Theresa Sherry and Lindsey Biles each scored three goals as Princeton took an 11-0 halftime lead and rested its starters in the second half. The win was Princeton's 15th straight dating back to April of last season.
Georgetown (5-0) hasn't played since Sunday, when the Hoyas held on for a 9-8 win at fourth-ranked Duke. Senior Anouk Peters returned from injury to score a team-high three goals for the Hoyas.
Princeton and Georgetown, coached by former Tiger All-America Kim Simons '94, have played nine times in the last seven seasons. Six of those nine games have been decided by two goals or less or in overtime, including a 13-11 overtime victory for the Tigers last season at Class of 1952 Stadium.
TODAY'S NOTE OF THE DAY
