Women's Tennis Wins at Brown, 5-2

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The Princeton women's tennis team earned four hard-fought three-set wins in singles Saturday afternoon on the way to a 5-2 victory over Brown in an Ivy League match. The Tigers improve to 5-10 overall and 1-2 in Ivy play.
The Tigers came from behind in two of their four singles victories. At No. 2, Alison Hashmall lost the first set 6-0 to Brown's Kerry Meath but stormed back to win the final two sets, losing just six games in the process. At No. 4 singles, Stephanie Berg lost the first set 6-4 to Amanda Saiontz but took the second set 6-4 and earned a 7-5 victory in the decisive third set.
Princeton's other two singles wins also came in three sets. No. 1 Darcy Robertson gutted out a three-set win over Alex Arlak, winning the third set in a tiebreak, 7-2. Laura Trimble earned the Tigers' other singles win, defeating Daisy Ames 6-4 in the third. Princeton won the doubles point thanks to victories at No. 1 by Avantika Bhargava and Alex Kobishyn and No. 3 by Berg and Trimble.
The Tigers host Harvard and Dartmouth at the Lenz Center next weekend.
