Men's Tennis Guts Out 4-3 Win at Dartmouth

HANOVER, N.H. - Princeton got strong play from the bottom half of its singles lineup and a tough two-set victory by Dan Friedman at No. 2 singles on the way to a 4-3 victory over Dartmouth in a men's tennis match played Saturday afternoon.
Tim Kofol at No. 4, David Gopstein at No. 5 and Hans Plukas at No. 6 were the keys to victory for the Tigers Saturday, each winning in straight sets. Kofol defeated Borko Kereshi, 6-3 and 6-4, Gopstein knocked off Travis Maiers in straight sets, 6-3 and 6-1, while Plukas won 6-4 and 6-2 at No. 6 over Andres Reyes.
The clincher for the Tigers, who improved to 10-9 overall and 3-2 in Ivy League play, came from Friedman at No. 2. He outlasted Dartmouth's Neal Bobba, 7-5 and 7-5. Both of Princeton's singles losses came in three sets. Darius Craton lost a tough one in a third-set tiebreak to David Webb at No. 1, while Andrew Lieu lost to Drew Dinkmeyer 6-4 in the third.
Gopstein and Craton won at No. 1 doubles for the Tigers, defeating Bobba and Dinkmeyer by an 8-6 score.
