The top-ranked Princeton women's lacrosse team begins the second half of its regular season Saturday afternoon when Cornell visits Class of 1952 Stadium for a noon game. The game can be heard live on the internet at goprincetontigers.com.
Needless to say, the No. 1 Tigers are hoping for a repeat of the first half of their season, which featured four wins over teams currently ranked sixth or better in the IWLCA poll and an average margin of victory of nearly seven goals per game. Princeton's winning streak has extended to 17 games in a row with eight wins to begin the 2004 season, just three shy of the program record.
Princeton has defeated Cornell 16 straight times and has a 23-2 record all-time against the Big Red, but Cornell's 1-6 record heading into Saturday's game is a bit misleading. Four of those losses have come against Top 20 teams, including defeats at No. 2 Georgetown and No. 3 Notre Dame to to open the season.
Saturday's game is the first game of a women's/men's doubleheader at Class of 1952 Stadium. The Princeton men host Yale in an Ivy League game beginning at 3 p.m.
Today's Note of the Day

Even More Ivy Facts ? In the last 11 seasons, The Tigers have a 64-8 Ivy League record overall and a 59-2 record against the six Ivy League schools other than Dartmouth.
Seeing Red ? Princeton has defeated Cornell 16 consecutive times. The Tigers have a 23-2 all-time record against the Big Red.
