Women's Tennis Wins Big at Cornell, 6-1

ITHACA, N.Y. - The Princeton women's tennis team improved to 3-3 in Ivy League play with a big 6-1 victory over Cornell Friday afternoon.
The Tigers won five of the six singles matches and nearly took all six, with No. 2 Darcy Robertson falling in a tough third set 7-5 to Akane Kokubo. Alison Hashmall played No. 1 for the Tigers against the Big Red, defeating Laura Tallent 6-4 and 6-4, while No. 3 Jessica Siebel fought past Erika Takeuchi, 7-6 and 6-4.
Princeton won the final three singles matches in straight sets, including an impressive 6-1, 6-1 win at No. 5 by Laura Trimble and a win by Stephanie Berg and No. 4 that included a 6-0 first set. The Tigers swept the doubles matches to earn the doubles point. Berg and Trimble won easily at No. 3, 8-2, over Maloy/Preneta of Cornell.
Princeton concludes the regular season Sunday, hosting Cornell at the Lenz Tennis Center.
