Women's Golf Sits 18th After Second Day of NCAA Central Regional

Norman, Ill. - The Princeton women's golf team sits tied for 18th overall after the second day of the NCAA Central Women's Golf Regional at the Illinois State Golf Course. Meg Nakamura shot the low round of the day for Princeton, a three-over 74 to climb 41 spots in the overall rundown to a tie for 38th.
Princeton shot a 317 on Friday to follow up its opening round 320 on Thursday. That puts the Tigers 69 over par and in a tie with Kansas State. That is 32 strokes off of a first-place tie between Vanderbilt and Michigan State. The top eight teams advance to the NCAA Championships. Princeton is 19 strokes behind Northwestern for the final transfer spot.
Nakamura shot her 74 after posting an 82 in Round 1. That lifted her from 84th to 38th in the rundown, where she is the top Tiger. Avery Kiser shot an 82 today, when combined with her opening-round 76, puts her at 16 over par and in a tie for 53rd. Alexis Etow and Taryn Haladay are both tied for 96th at 24 over. Haladay shot a 77 today, the second lowest Princeton round, while Etow has an 82 and an 84 to her credit. Sharla Cloutier shot an 88 on Friday and sits 102nd.
The third and final round will be played on Saturday.
