Kroshus Finishes Fourth in NCAA 10,000 to Earn All-America Honors

AUSTIN, Texas - Senior Emily Kroshus concluded a remarkable season in track and field and cross country by finishing in fourth place and earning All-America honors in the 10,000 meters at the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships at the University of Texas's Mike Myers Stadium.
Kroshus's time of 34:21.20 was just 33 seconds behind the winning time of Stanford's Alicia Craig, a sophomore who won the race in a time of 33:58.27. Vicky Gill of Florida State and Jamie Krzyminski of Michigan State finished second and third, respectively, in times of 34:02.
Meredith Lambert of Princeton also competed in the 10,000 meters, finishing in 19th place in a time of 36:24.91.
Chelo Canino, won the NCAA East regional in the pole vault two weeks ago, finished in sixth place in that event at the NCAA championships. Canino vaulted 4.10 meters (13 feet, 5 1/4 inches), but missed on all three attempts at 4.20 meters. UCLA's Chelsea Johnson won the event by clearing 4.30 meters (14 feet, 1 1/4 inches).
