Princeton, N.J. - The men's soccer team hosts Drexel tonight, Tuesday Sept. 14 at 7 p.m. in the Tigers' first home game of the season. Princeton enters the meeting at 1-1 while the Dragons are 2-1, coming off a 4-0 loss in which two players received red cards.
Drexel will be without starting goalkeeper Jim Greco, who earned both wins and had a .909 save percentage until the La Salle game on Sept. 11. Greco played the first 50:59 against La Salle but was ejected with a red card after a physically contested save. Backup keeper Nick Macri then allowed four goals in the final 39:01, when La Salle played with a two-man advantage. Defenseman Justin Bowers will also sit out tonight's game due to a red card.
The Dragons opened the season with a 1-0 win over American and 2-1 win over Monmouth, with freshman Jack Przednowek scoring both game-winning goals. Przednowek's four points are a team high, followed by a goal from Tim Mochan and an assist apiece for Joe Banks and Derek Bickford.
Princeton also comes off a scoreless loss, 6-0 to Akron on the road, after an impressive season-opening win at Loyola. Darren Spicer scored two goals including the game-winner, Adrian Melville scored his first goal after taking last season off, and Ryan Rich tallied his 11th career assist in the 3-2 win.
Tonight's game is just the third meeting between Princeton and Drexel in the past 20 years. The Dragons defeated the Tigers 3-2 two years ago.
