Men's Tennis Competes at Yale Invitational

NEW HAVEN, Conn. - Shannon Morales reached the final of the "C" singles bracket before falling to Columbia's Jared Drucker as the Tiger men's tennis team competed at the Yale Invitational this weekend.
Morales defeated Marty Moore of Columbia, Cornell's Kevin Jay and the Big Red's Mike Delany, all in straight sets, before falling to Drucker in a tough three-set match, 6-4 in the third, in the final. Morales lost only 13 games in three matches heading into the final.
Three Princeton players participated in the "A" singles bracket, with two of them advancing to the second round. Sratha Saengsuwarn defeated Steve McGaughey of Dartmouth in the first round before falling to Columbia's Akshay Rao in the quarterfinals. Darius Craton had a bye into the second round but fell to Dartmouth's David Webb 6-4, 6-1, in the quarterfinals.
In the "A" doubles bracket, Ashwat Sarohia and Saengsuwarn defeated a strong team from Columbia in the first round before losing to a team from Dartmouth in the semifinal.
Andrew Lieu and Hans Plukas both fell in the second round of the "B" singles bracket.
The Tigers play in the ECAC team championships this weekend at the USTA's National Tennis Center in Queens, N.Y.
