Tigers Compete at Penn's Cissie Leary Invitational

PHILADELPHIA - Much of the Princeton women's tennis team began its 2004 fall season at Penn's Cissie Leary Invitational, with the Tiger doubles teams experiencing success in early-round play.
In the doubles main draw, two Princeton teams advanced to the second round. Alison Hashmall and freshman Natalie Arcario defeated a team from Columbia 8-5 in the first round, while Stephanie Berg and Laura Trimble snuck by another Columbia tandem by a 9-7 score. Both Princeton teams would fall in the second round to teams from Penn and Harvard, respectively.
Arcario experienced success in the consolation singles bracket after falling in the first round in the main draw, defeating opponents from Columbia and Penn State on Saturday before falling in the consolation finals in three sets Sunday. Both Berg and Trimble won matches in the consolation draw as well before falling in the back draw bracket on Saturday.
