PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Despite leading Brown (5-7-0, 1-2-0 Ivy) on the shot chart, 22-7, the Bears made their shots count in a 2-1 victory over the Princeton women's soccer team (3-5-2, 1-2-0) on Saturday night in Providence, R.I. Brown's Lindsay Cunningham scored in the game's 18th minute before each team scored late in the second half.
Maren Dale started the game in goal for the Tigers but saw her scoreless streak, which stood at 206 game minutes entering the game, stop at 223 minutes with the Cunningham goal. Emily Vogelsang minded the net for the Orange and Black in the second half, allowing one goal.
With Brown ahead 1-0, Kim LaVere gave the Bears a 2-0 lead in the 76th minute before Aarti Jain scored her first goal of the year on an assist from Maura Gallagher.
Princeton ends a three-game road trip at Rutgers on Tuesday night before reaching the midpoint of the Ivy schedule with Columbia visiting on Saturday at 4 p.m.
