CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - Princeton won three singles matches, and took another to three sets, but Boston College held on for a 4-3 win over the Tigers in women's tennis Saturday when Lindsey Nash defeated Darcy Robertson at No. 3 singles in a second-set tiebreak.
Joanna Roth, at No. 5, and Stephanie Berg, at No. 6, each won in straight sets to give Princeton a lift after the Eagles won the doubles point. Alison Hashmall then split sets with Morgan Landes at No. 4 before winning the third set, 6-4.
Robertson fended off four match points before Nash completed a 6-3, 7-6 victory at No. 3 that clinched the match for the Eagles. Christine Kansky won the first set at No. 2 against BC's Nida Waseem before Waseem came back for the victory, winning the final two sets 6-0 and 6-4.
