Women's Tennis Loses Tough Match to Boston University, 4-3

BOSTON - Monica Shepherd won a tough three-set match at No. 4 singles, defeating Princeton's Laura Trimble 7-6 in the third set after a 10-8 tiebreak, clinching a 4-3 win for Boston University over the Tigers in women's tennis Sunday morning in Boston.
The clinching match came after BU had won the doubles point and the Tigers had won two singles matches, including a 6-4, 6-3 win by Darcy Robertson over Laura Ahmes at No. 1. Stephanie Berg also won for Princeton at No. 6, defeating Cheri Lapane 6-1 and 6-2.
Joanna Roth also earned a victory for the Tigers at No. 5 singles, winning a 10-8 proset over Katie Draganova after splitting the first two sets. Berg and Jessica Siebel won at No. 1 doubles for the Tigers, defeating Shepherd and Gina Sabatino by a 9-7 score.
