Freshman Douglas Hohensee Leds Tigers With Three Wins

PRINCETON, N.J. -- Men's fencing swept all three weapons in a dual meet against Haverford on Saturday in Jadwin. Princeton improves to 5-1 on the season.
Senior Soren Thompson won all three of his bouts in the epee. He went 5-3, 4-3 and 5-1 in the matches. Junior Benjamin Solomon was 5-1 twice before falling 1-5 in his last face-off. Freshman Tommi Hurme rounded out the weapon with two wins, 5-4 and 5-1 but dropped a 5-2 matchup.
In the foil, freshman Douglas Hohensee won all three bouts (5-2, 5-1 and 5-4), as did sophomore Alejandro Bras (5-2, 5-2, 5-1) 4-5, 5-1, 5-0. Senior Scott Sherman finished 2-1 with wins of 5-1 and 5-0 but a loss at 5-4.
Junior Owen Cornwall led the sabre with three wins, 5-3, 5-2, 5-3. Freshman John Winnerman was 2-1 (5-3, 5-3, 4-5), while sophomore Joe Cho was 5-3, 3-5 and 2-5 in the section.
The Tigers face Ivy foe Penn on Wenesday, Feb. 9 in Philadelphia, Pa.
