It may be Spring Break on the Princeton campus, but the tests for Chris Sailer's women's lacrosse team just keep on coming.
Next up for the 2-0 Tigers, likely to be the No. 1-ranked team in the country when this week's poll is announced, is Duke, at 2 p.m. Wednesday afternoon in Durham, N.C. The game will be broadcast live via the internet at GoPrincetonTigers.com.
The Blue Devils, ranked No. 4 last week, are now 5-1 after a one-goal loss to archival North Carolina Saturday afternoon. Princeton improved to 2-0 thanks to a 15-11 win over No. 11 Loyola, with the Tigers outscoring the Greyhounds 7-3 in the decisive second half.
While Princeton has a 6-2 record against Duke, which includes an NCAA tournament win in 2000, both of the Blue Devils' wins in the series have come in North Carolina, in 1999 and in 2003, Princeton's last trip to Durham.
Lindsey Biles, the Ivy League Offensive Player of the Week after scoring 10 goals in Princeton's first two games, has led a Princeton attack that has scored on nearly half of its shots in its first two games. Biles has moved into eighth place all-time at Princeton in goals with 130.
Today's Note of the Day
