FRESNO, Calif. - The Princeton women's tennis team fell victim to a powerful Fresno State squad Wednesday afternoon, falling to the 43rd-ranked Bulldogs on Fresno, Calif., by a 7-0 score.
Fresno State won all but four games in three doubles matches to earn the doubles point. The Tigers were then competitive in singles, particularly at the Nos. 3 and 5 positions, but the Bulldogs won all six singles matches.
Christine Kansky took the first set from Fresno's Lucia Sainz before Sainz came back to win the second set 6-0 and a tiebreak for the match. Laura Trimble won the second set against Jacqui Haskett at No. 5, forcing a tiebreak to determine the match, but Haskett won the tiebreak 10-5. Princeton continues its Spring Break trip Friday afternoon, facing Cal in Berkeley.
