Princeton Defeats George Washington, 6-1

The Princeton women's tennis team won its second straight match Friday afternoon, defeating George Washington by a 6-1 score at the Jadwin Gym tennis courts.
The Tigers earned the doubles point thanks to three wins, including an 8-0 shutout at No. 3 by Rankin Williams and Ivana King. Princeton, which improved to 6-6 on the season, then clinched the match when King won at No. 4 singles over GW's Tracy Stecko, 6-2 and 6-2.
Princeton won five singles matches in straight sets. Joanna Roth lost just two games in a win over Michelle Alexander at No. 3 singles, while Stephanie Berg defeated Anne Watkins by scores of 6-2 and 6-3 at No. 5.
The Tigers open their Ivy League season at Penn this Saturday.
