PRINCETON, N.J. - After being rained out on Thursday, senior Ty Ries and the Princeton softball team will resume play on Saturday, March 26 in Boston, Mass. as they face Boston University in a doubleheader starting at 1 p.m.
The Tigers (14-6) tallied a 10-5 record over 15 games during the spring break trip in California, including an impressive 2-0 win over, then, No. 3 Stanford on March 20. Senior Melissa Finley leads the Ivy League with four homers and has a team-leading .368 batting average. Junior Erin Snyder (7-2) leads the pitching corps with 85 strikeouts and three shutouts this season.
The Terriers (5-8), who fell to No. 19 Georgia Tech 12-0 on March 9, haven't played a game in 17 days due to inclement weather. Erin McDonald leads the team's offensive attack with a .455 batting average and eight RBIs. Behind the mound Brittany Detwiler (3-4) has collected 37 strikeouts and holds a 3.34 era.
Princeton leads the series against Boston, 4-1. The Tigers split a pair of home games with the Terriers, last year, falling 1-0 in game one before rebounding for a 7-4 win in the nightcap.
