HANOVER, N.H. - The Princeton women's tennis team got its second win over a ranked team in Ivy League play this season with a 4-3 victory over 73rd-ranked Dartmouth Friday afternoon in New Hampshire.
The Tigers (8-6, 3-1 Ivy), who handed Dartmouth its first Ivy League loss, won two tight singles matches in straight sets to help clinch the win. Darcy Robertson defeated Lindsay Winingham 6-4 and 6-4 at No. 2 singles, while Joanna Roth took the first set in a tiebreak from Maggie Suydam at No. 5 before outlasting Suydam 6-4 in the second set.
Princeton had earlier won at No. 5 singles, where freshman Ivana King lost just five games in a straight-set win over Megan Zebroski.
The biggest point of the match for the Tigers may have come in doubles, however, where Alison Hashmall and Jessica Siebel won a 9-7 thriller at No. 2 over Ann Scott and Winingham to clinch the point after the teams split at No. 1 and No. 3 doubles.
Princeton, which had earlier defeated No. 59 Penn, visits 17th-ranked Harvard Saturday.
