Reston, Va. - The Princeton women's golf team finished second in a 14-team field at the Hoya Women's Invitational at the Raspberry Falls Golf Course on Saturday. The two-round tournament was shortened to a single round because of poor weather and playing conditions.
Princeton shot a team 335, which was 13 strokes behind Yale, whose 322 paced the field. Princeton was six strokes up on third-place Georgetown and nine ahead of fourth-place Penn. Radford was fifth.
Yale's Cindy Shin took the tournament's top spot with a 76. That was four strokes ahead of a four-way tie for second that included Princeton's Meg Nakamura. Avery Kiser shot an 83 to tie for ninth and put a pair of Tigers in the top 10.
Two Tigers tied for 16th after shooting 86's. They were Annika Welander and Sharla Cloutier. Alexis Etow's 89 was tied for 26th.
Princeton returns to the course next weekend at James Madison.
