The Princeton women's lacrosse team hosts Brown Saturday afternoon at 3 p.m. at Class of 1952 Stadium (GoPrincetonTigers.com internet broadcast), but not before the Tigers honor six players whose collective efforts rank at the top of the team's storied history.
The six-member Class of 2005--attackers Lindsey Biles, Ingrid Goldberg, and Leigh Slonaker, midfielder Elizabeth Pillion, defender Jennifer Austin and goalie Sarah Kolodner--has the best winning percentage in program history. With 65 wins in 74 games the last four seasons, the Class of 2005 has won nearly 88 percent of its games.
The No. 4 Tigers (11-3, 5-1 Ivy) hope to make it 66 wins in 75 games against a Brown (3-9, 1-4 Ivy) team that features a familiar face on the sidelines. Keely McDonald, who was an assistant coach at Princeton last season, is now the head coach of the Bears.
Princeton had its biggest win of the season Tuesday night, a 16-3 rout of No. 16 Delaware, and it was a win that certainly featured contributions from every Princeton class. 10 players scored for the Tigers, including a career-best four goals from junior Olachi Opara, and the Tigers held Delaware to just 10 shots.
Brown hasn't played since last Saturday, when the Bears lost to Penn by an 8-6 score.
The Tigers have defeated Brown 14 consecutive times and 13 straight times in the regular season.
The Princeton Class of 2005 has also won 25 of its 27 Ivy League games and has never lost an Ivy League game at home (13-0).
