The Princeton men's tennis team used a tiebreak win at No. 3 doubles by Blaise Goswami and Mark Gober and four straight-set singles victories to defeat St. John's 5-2, in a match played inside at Jadwin Gym Sunday afternoon.
Goswami and Gober were tied at 8-8 with Morgan Bauer and Claudio Halim before winning the decisive tiebreak, 7-2, to give the Tigers the doubles point. Princeton then got wins from a pair of freshmen, brothers Andrew and Christian Husby, as well as juniors Darius Craton and Shannon Morales to win the match handily.
Andrew Husby defeated Halim at No. 5 singles by a 6-3, 6-4 score, while brother Christian was taken to two tiebreaks but won each to defeat Bauer, 7-6 and 7-6. Craton was taken to a tiebreak by Louis Desmarteaux at No. 1 in the first set, but finished out the match with a 6-1 win in the second set.
Morales defeated Boris Chiporuka at No. 4 singles, 6-2 and 7-5.
