Women's Lacrosse Hosts No. 16 Temple Wednesday Night

The third-ranked Princeton women's lacrosse team looks for its third straight win Wednesday night when No. 16 Temple visits Class of 1952 Stadium at 7:30 p.m. (GoPrincetonTigers.com internet broadcast).
The Owls (4-2) are the eighth nationally-ranked team Princeton has played in nine games this season. Princeton (6-2) is ranked No. 3 this week after previously holding down spots No. 1, 2 and 4 earlier in the season.
Princeton has worked overtime to win its last two games, getting a sudden-victory win at Cornell Saturday on a Lindsey Biles goal and a conventional OT victory against Georgetown at Class of 1952 Stadium a week ago. The Tigers have seen three of their last five games go to overtime counting a loss to Penn State March 19.
Temple hasn't played since last Wednesday, when the Owls defeated La Salle 14-4 in an Atlantic 10 game in Philadelphia.
The Tigers have defeated Temple six years a row, outscoring the Owls 87-41 in those six wins. Princeton scored the first nine goals at Temple last year, led 13-1 at halftime and coasted from there to a 19-6 win.
Princeton will have just two home games remaining after Wednesday night's game--hosting Harvard April 16 and Brown April 30.

I'm Honored -- Sarah Kolodner was named the Ivy League's Defensive Player of the Week on Monday. Kolodner had 16 saves last week, including a key stop at the end of overtime against Georgetown.
Tight Ones -- All eight of Princeton's games this season have featured halftime margins or two goals or less. Six of those games have been ties or one-goal games at halftime.

The Game Winner -- Lindsey Biles scored the game-winning goal with 14 seconds left in the first sudden-victory overtime to give Princeton a win at Cornell Saturday.
Versatility -- Elizabeth Pillion leads Princeton in draw controls (19) and groundballs (21) and is second on the team with 16 goals and 24 points.
She Shoots, She Scores -- Elizabeth Pillion has scored her 16 goals this season on just 36 shots (44%).
How Many Final Fours? -- Elizabeth Pillion went to the NCAA final four with the women's lacrosse team last May and with the Princeton women's soccer team this December.
Miller's Time -- Kathleen Miller had five goals and three assists in two Princeton wins last week. Miller had six goals in six games prior to last week.
More Miller Time -- Kathleen Miller was named the 2004 Ivy League Rookie of the Year after scoring 32 goals as a freshman.

Amo on Attack -- Freshman Ashley Amo scored the game-winning goal in overtime against Georgetown and then led the Tigers with three goals at Cornell.

Iggy Pops -- Ingrid Goldberg had seven points (four goals, three assists) in two games last week after entering the week with five points in Princeton's first six games.

NCAA Facts -- Princeton (2002 and 2003) and Maryland (seven straight from 1995 through 2001) are the only schools to win consecutive National Collegiate or NCAA Division I championships.
